On October 8, we celebrated a big moment: the ICONIC Awards 2024 ceremony was held! This year, we took home two awards in two categories. Our Berlin store on Kurfürstendamm was honored as a “Winner” in the “INTERIOR – Retail” category, and our new Headquarter Office received the highest distinction, “Best of the Best,” in the “INTERIOR – Corporate” category. The ICONIC Awards are a prestigious, internationally recognized competition that celebrates excellence in architecture, interior design, and communications. Organized by the German Design Council, they highlight leaders in innovative design, and we’re beyond proud of these achievements.
Our Ku’damm store: An immersive experience for all senses
Our stores are more than just a display space for our products – they’re designed to invite guests into the world of tea and offer a break from the daily routine. Partnering with pluspunkt architektur from Graz, we brought this vision to life at our new Ku’damm location in Berlin. The clean, modern style is influenced by Japanese and Scandinavian design and bridges traditional tea culture with minimalistic style. We’re especially proud of our in-house-designed tables, inspired by tea trays and made from sustainable materials, which create a beautiful setting for our collections.
A central feature of the store is our tea bar, where guests can sample teas, join events, and enjoy personalized consultations. “Our stores invite guests to enjoy a special, sensory approach to shopping. We aim to provide a warm welcome and a peaceful retreat from the busy world outside. This award recognizes our commitment to creating spaces where every detail is thoughtfully curated to enhance our guests’ experience. We brought this same dedication to our new headquarters, which we designed as a second home for our team and partners,” says Goran Pavlic, CEO of PAPER & TEA.
Between tea ceremony and modern workplace: Our new Headquarter Office
For our new headquarters, we collaborated with the renowned architecture firm Schwitzke & Górski to create a unique office environment, earning us another ICONIC Award.
Blending warm wood tones and traditional Shōji walls with raw concrete, we designed a space that’s both inviting and functional. We opted for flexible workspaces instead of assigned desks, allowing team members to choose their ideal setup each day and encouraging collaboration, adaptability, and creativity.
At the heart of our office design is our Tea House, an oasis for workshops and events as well as a quiet retreat for reflection. And, of course, it’s a place we regularly gather for tea ceremonies!
